Su Dongpo (January 8, 1037 – August 24, 1101)

1. He was a huge foodie who loved trying all kinds of food, like oysters and pufferfish. He even made honey wine but got food poisoning from it.

2. Although he was unfortunately demoted, he remained optimistic and saw it as a chance for free travel. He spent a lot of time experimenting with new recipes. Since he was poor, he would look for local ingredients, picking or catching whatever he could find to try in his dishes.
